Beautiful and Idyllic

April 14, 2015

The two beautiful and idyllic islands of Nosy Iranja Be and Nosy Iranja Kely are connected by a 1.5 kilometer sand bank. During low tidy it is possible to walk between the two tiny islands, however, Nosy Iranja Kely is actually a private island home to Nosy Iranja Lodge. The larger island (about 2 sq km), Nosy Iranja Be is inhabited and even has a local school. The islands regularly have visiting sea turtles who lay their eggs on the beaches.

How to get there?

Nosy Iranja Be is easily accessed on a day trip from Nosy Be. The boat ride takes about 75 minutes each way, and whilst on the island you can snorkel, laze around on the beach, swim and eat freshly grilled fish.
