The London Booster

July 28, 2018

The London Booster is an art installation by Czech artist David Černý.  It is a 1958 Bristol Lodekka LD double-decker bus, originally from the Isle of Wight (England).  Back in the day, it was operated by 'Southern Vectis' and painted in their green livery (it was never actually painted red when in service).  Since being bought by David Černý, the bus has been significantly modified and features audio-visual effects and state of the art “hydraulic arms” (allowing it to do push ups).

Where is it?

It used to be located in central Prague; however it can now be found 15 minutes away from “Chodov” metro station and shopping centre in Prague’s southern suburbs (Google Maps).  To reach “Chodov”, catch the RED Line from Muzeum-C taking approximately 15 minutes and then either jump on a bus, or simply walk.  Google Maps gives good directions.

Photo Journal

There are always more photos to be shared, but sharing them all on this journal page will just make it look cluttered – so if you want to see more photos for inspiration, check out my Flickr 2018 - Czech Republic album.
